Andrew Gilbert and Fran Rueda are making a one-off British GT appearance at the Silverstone 500, 12 months on from their last championship outing there.
The Le Mans Cup duo team up in a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo run by Optimum Motorsport – a combination with which they are familiar from the latter half of 2023. However, it was with Greystone GT that the pair contested British GT’s blue riband, three-hour race last season.
Although not eligible to score points, the duo will be in contention for Silver-Am honours.
The McLaren – Optimum’s third – is one of several additions to Silverstone’s grid, which often attracts British GT’s largest entry of the season. Two additional cars were announced last week, two more are due to be revealed this, and several more will appear on the entry list due to be published next Monday.
In all, more than 40 entries are expected on April 26-28.
