2025 ENTRY: Jolt first to join new Endurance Cup

Jolt Racing will make its British GT debut this season after becoming the first team to confirm an Endurance Cup programme.

The outfit’s reigning GT Cup GTA class champions Rupert Williams and John Ingram are swapping the McLaren 570S they campaigned together last year for a current Artura GT4. That model has already won eight races in its first two British GT seasons, double the number of the next best car.

Ingram, unlike either his team or Williams, also has at least some historical experience of the championship after racing in the co-headline British F3 Championship in 1998 and 1999. He was also slated to drive a Marcos Mantis at Silverstone in 2000 but was ultimately denied the chance to race.

His CV includes myriad national categories and the European Le Mans Series, as well as a 15-year racing hiatus that only ended in 2022 when he founded Jolt and contested the Citroen C1 Endurance Series.

“Stepping up to British GT was always our goal, and the introduction of the new Endurance Cup made 2025 the perfect time to make that move,” he said. “Last year’s season in the GT Cup was all about development, and now we’re ready to put everything into action with the new McLaren Artura GT4.

“We’ve made some significant developments within the team, bringing in key new personnel to strengthen our operation and working on a new team premises. With everything coming together, we’re looking forward to getting started at Media Day in a few weeks’ time.”

His co-driver has also been an integral part of Jolt Racing’s short history. Williams joined Ingram for 2023’s C1 campaign before graduating to GT Cup’s GTA class last year.

“I’m really excited to be moving into British GT this year, and to continue racing alongside John,” he said. “It’s a highly competitive championship, and with that comes new challenges, but we’re ready to take them on.

“John and I have developed a strong partnership over the past couple of years, and with the support of the team and our partners – including our newly announced partnership with Otto Lube – I’m confident that we’ve got a really strong foundation to build on this season.

“This will be our first season with the new McLaren Artura GT4, but we’ve already had a positive start with a successful testing programme in Spain, so I’m excited to see what we can achieve.”

The Hampshire-based squad is the first to announce an Endurance Cup programme. The new GT4 championship within a championship brings together four races at three circuits – Donington, Silverstone and Spa – where pitlane capacity exceeds the number of cars British GT can accept over a full season.

Jolt’s new McLaren will be among the cars attending British GT’s media day at Silverstone on March 21. The general public can attend for free but must reserve a ticket beforehand at https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/british-gt-championship.
