Reigning GT4 champion Jack Brown is returning for a third season with Optimum and McLaren after linking up with last year’s championship rival Marc Warren.
The eight-time race winner now ranks among British GT4’s most successful drivers after last season’s title success alongside Zac Meakin made amends for narrowly missing out on 2023’s crown.
He heads into a third campaign with Optimum’s Artura also eyeing a hat-trick of Silverstone 500 victories, as well as extending a record of winning at least once in each of the seasons he has contested. His first, achieved with Balfe Motorsport in 2021, was followed by another in Century’s BMW before embarking on the current run of success with Optimum.
However, 2025 also marks a significant shift for the 31-year-old who will lead a Pro-Am crew for the first time.
History is also against him: no driver has ever won two GT4 titles let alone retained one, while 2016 was the last time a Pro-Am duo prevented two Silvers from clinching the overall crown.
“I’m excited to be returning for a fifth season in British GT, this time teaming up with Marc Warren and continuing with Optimum Motorsport,” he said.
“After last season’s success, we’re motivated to build on that momentum and are fully focussed on aiming for the top spot. We’re looking forward to a competitive and rewarding season ahead.”
New co-driver Warren made his British GT debut with Forsetti last year and remained an overall as well as class title challenger throughout the season. He and Will Orton ultimately finished fourth in points and second in the Pro-Am standings.
“I am thrilled to join Optimum Motorsport and Jack Brown for my second year in British GT,” he said. “Last year we relied on consistency to stay in the fight for the titles until the last round but this year is going to be different!
“Over the last few seasons Jack and Optimum have set the benchmarks for GT4 competitiveness and I need to up my game to perform at the very highest level with them. I want to thank Jack and Shaun [Goff] for their faith in me and the warm welcome into the team. The McLaren Artura is a fantastic car to be learning in and I can't wait to get going!”
Warren and Brown comprise the second of Optimum’s GT4 entries, the first of which – featuring Harry George and Luca Hopkinson – was revealed in January.
Both Arturas will appear at Silverstone’s British GT media day, free tickets for which can be reserved at silverstone.co.uk/events/british-gt-championship.
The seven-event, nine-race season itself begins three weeks later at Donington Park (April 5/6).
