+ Testing: combined result
Jonny Adam (GT3) and Seb Morris (GT4) set fastest times across Thursday’s three test sessions at Donington Park ahead of British GT’s 2025 season opener this weekend.
Both laps – 1m25.488s and 1m32.648s, respectively – were set in the day’s third session, which – like the two that proceeded it – was held under sunny blue skies.
Sandy Mitchell set almost identical times to pace the first and second tests in Barwell’s Lamborghini. But those 1m25.8s laps were eclipsed by Blackthorn’s Aston Martin and five more entries in the afternoon.
Adam ultimately beat Marcus Clutton’s Orange/JMH McLaren by a comparatively comfortable 0.156s and the Optimum 720S driven by Callum Macleod by another half tenth. The best of 2 Seas’ Mercedes-AMGs was next up courtesy of Maximilian Götz who edged Team Parker’s Porsche and the second Optimum McLaren.
The third session was equally fast for GT4’s front runners after Jack Brown (Optimum) and then Phil Keen (Team Parker) both topped the times earlier in the day.
But the latter’s 1m33.3s was ultimately toppled by team-mate Morris who shaved seven tenths from the earlier benchmark.
Keen lapped TPR’s second Mercedes-AMG three tenths slower to slot into second, while former class champion Jack Mitchell took Mahiki’s fastest Lotus to third. Optimum’s McLarens were line astern in fourth and fifth.
British GT returns to action on Saturday with two practice sessions and qualifying. The two-hour race – which is live on Sky Sports F1 and SRO’s GT World YouTube channel – then follows at 12:45 BST on Sunday.
