Chadwick joins Generation AMR SuperRacing for Brands and Rockingham

Reigning British GT4 champion Jamie Chadwick will make an earlier-than-expected return to the series in 2016 after being confirmed at the Generation AMR-run SuperRacing team for Brands Hatch and Rockingham’s rounds.

The 17-year-old, who became the first female and youngest ever champion in British GT history last season, had previously confirmed a partial campaign alongside Paul Hollywood at Beechdean AMR from Spa-Francorchamps onwards, but will also now deputise for James Holder whose business commitments have ruled him out of the opening two weekends.

The SuperRacing Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 Chadwick will share with Matthew George therefore switches to a Silver Cup entry.

The BRDC Rising Star admitted it was an opportunity she couldn’t refuse after previously suggesting her eduction would take priority in 2016.

“It’s certainly turning into a busier year than I expected,” she said. “This year I’ve got my A-Levels, so I had planned to limit my racing over the first half of the season, prior to linking up with Paul Hollywood and the Beechdean Aston Martin team for the final three rounds of British GT. However, when the opportunity arose to join the guys at SuperRacing, for the first two rounds, I couldn’t really refuse.

“Other racing is possible and, in complete contrast, I have also been testing a BRDC F3 car with Hillspeed and guidance from experienced single-seater racer, Struan Moore. This will help broaden my racing outlook and give me some additional ‘aero’ experience. So, all in all, a busy year ahead, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get going.”

Generation AMR Team Principal James Appleby added: “It’s great to have Jamie playing the role of super sub for James at the first two rounds of British GT's this season. She knows the car well and has a great can-do attitude that has worked really well with us all so far. I am excited to see how Matthew and Jamie get on as a pairing.”
