Result: FP2
Times tumbled during second practice at Snetterton where Team ABBA Racing’s Adam Christodoulou lapped half-a-second faster than the morning’s benchmark to top the session by less than a tenth from Phil Keen.
Meanwhile, Invictus Games Racing’s Matt George followed up third in FP1 by setting the quickest time in GT4.
The 60-minute session was something of a slow burner after Christodoulou’s time went unchallenged over the second half. His best of 1m48.558s was 0.073s quicker than Barwell’s #72 Lamborghini driven by Keen, who again finished second.
Jonny Cocker made it a Barwell two-three ahead of FP1 pace-setter Nicki Thiim (TF Sport Aston Martin), albeit by just 0.005s, while Marco Sorensen’s Beechdean AMR V8 Vantage wasn’t too far behind in fifth.
Seb Morris’ JRM Bentley was there or thereabouts in sixth after beating TF Sport’s second Aston Martin and Balfe Motorsport’s McLaren.
GT4 was similarly short on action after George set the session’s best – 1m58.229s – before half-distance. That was two tenths faster than the best from FP1 and a similar margin ahead of Scott Malvern’s Team Parker Mercedes-AMG, which again finished second.
Balfe’s Michael O’Brien was the only major late mover after jumping up to third ahead of FP1 pace-setter Dino Zamparelli (GT Marques), while Century’s #42 BMW and TF Sport’s #97 Aston Martin completed the top-six.
Oulton Park race winners Multimatic Motorsports finished seventh after beating the best-placed of Optimum’s Aston Martins by 0.027s.
Qualifying begins at 15:50.
