> Result: FP2
Phil Keen hit the front in second practice for this weekend's two-hour race at Donington Park, edging out morning pace-setter Nicki Thiim in a particularly competitive session at the Leicestershire venue.
Thiim had looked set to complete a practice sweep in his #2 TF Sport Aston Martin, only for Lamborghini factory ace Keen to find the sweet spot in his Huracan GT3 with just a few minutes left on the clock. The British driver was able to reverse the order from FP1, circulating 0.131s faster than Thiim.
Third was another TF Sport entry, with Jonny Adam putting the #47 Aston he shares with Graham Davidson among the front runners. Super-sub Tom Onslow-Cole was fourth in the #8 Team ABBA Racing Mercedes-AMG, continuing the strong form he displayed in FP1.
While Thiim had to be content with taking first and second from the two practice sessions, GT4 front-runner Scott Maxwell was able to go one better and complete the double. The impressive Maxwell sent the #15 Multimatic Ford Mustang clear of the opposition once again, with the two Century Motorsport BMWs in close pursuit. The #43 was able to edge the #42 in this intra-team battle, with Angus Fender narrowly overcoming Jacob Mathiassen in the sister M4.
The second session completed a busy start to the weekend for British GT's 41-car field and set the scene for this afternoon's all-important qualifying. This gets underway at 15.35 and can be followed on BritishGT.com/live-timing.
