Former GT4 champions Century confirm BMW entries

> Hurst joins Gordon-Colebrooke in one of two M4 GT4s

Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke will remain with Century Motorsport next season when British GT’s 2018 class champions again enter two BMW M4 GT4s.

The 27-year-old teams up with Ben Hurst who raced an Academy Aston Martin throughout 2019. The pair will initially join forces during January’s Dubai 24 Hours when both Century BMWs contest Creventic’s season opener.

Century won the GT4 Teams’ and Drivers’ crowns two years ago but were unable to add to their wins tally earlier this year. Instead, Gordon-Colebrooke claimed a best result of fourth alongside team principal Nathan Freke, who replaced GT3-bound Angus Fender at the final two rounds.

It will be Gordon-Colebrooke’s third season with Century following his Ginetta GT4 Supercup campaign in 2018.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be teaming up with Century Motorsport again for another crack at British GT4,” said Gordon-Colebrooke. “Last year was a big learning curve for me and I’ll be looking to take those lessons into 2020.

“Partnering with Ben is a positive move as well – he’s also coming into his second year with the championship so I know he’s just as hungry as I am to go searching for success in the coming season. With both team and drivers having a good amount of experience in the championship, all the parts are there for us to have a successful season together. I can’t wait!”

Hurst, meanwhile, is eager to build on a solid first season in British GT, and believes the combination of two experienced drivers will prove invaluable.

“I am thrilled to be working with Century Motorsport and BMW for the 2020 season,” he said. “I am very impressed in how they work and the car is fantastic to drive! I am really looking forward to challenging for some strong results in 2020. I know Andrew and myself will be a strong driver line-up along with the team that Nathan has assembled. It gives me a lot of confidence going into the 2020 season.”

Freke added: “I’m really pleased to be working with Andrew again. This will be the third season we have worked together and I really felt he turned a corner toward the end of last season in terms of pace and his approach.

“We tested with Ben after the season had finished and he gelled exceptionally well with the team and loved the BMW M4. I could see straight away that Ben and Andrew would work well together with their attitude towards things.

“With both of them racing in the Dubai 24 Hour with us, it’s the perfect way to prepare for the season. The M4 is the most successful new-era GT4 car and we are looking to replicate our 2018 season in 2020.”
