Ultimate Speed’s Aston back for more British GT in 2021

Ultimate Speed’s Aston Martin will contest this year’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

The team’s silver and blue Vantage AMR GT3 debuted at Donington last season before also contesting Silverstone’s season finale. Now Silver-Am duo Matt Manderson and Mike Brown are embarking on their biggest British GT campaign to date after confirming entries at four of the seven events.

Ultimate Speed will contest the season opener at Brands Hatch on May 22/23 before also making summer appearances at Donington and Snetterton. The Aston then returns for #DoningtonDecider in October.

“We always enjoy our British GT outings – first and foremost we want to have fun so decided to increase our commitment this year after switching from old to new Vantage in 2020,” said Brown. “We should be closer to the established pairings with more testing and mileage, and Silver-Am really gives us something to aim at.”

Indeed, Ultimate Speed’s presence means the new-for-2021 Silver-Am category will feature four entries at most rounds. Team ABBA Racing’s Richard and Sam Neary, fellow father/son duo Stewart and Lewis Proctor (Balfe Motorsport) and Simon Green Motorsport pairing Lucky Khera and Ross Wylie have all confirmed their full-season participation.

Spectators can attend the opening round of this season’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Brands Hatch on May 22/23 by reserving tickets in advance. Several covid protocols and restrictions – including a closed paddock – will remain in place until at least June 21 when the UK government is due to end all lockdown measures.
