Flewitt and Hankey join Team Rocket RJN for British GT3 graduation

> #Silverstone500, Spa and #DoningtonDecider entries confirmed

Reigning Intelligent Money British GT4 Pro-Am champions Mia Flewitt and Euan Hankey will make their GT3 debuts together at the Silverstone 500 later this month in the first of three outings with Team Rocket RJN.

It also marks the team’s return to the senior ranks with McLaren after James Baldwin and Michael O’Brien challenged for the Overall and Silver Cup Drivers’ titles last term.

The 720S joins Team Rocket RJN’s three 570S GT4 entries at the blue riband, three-hour race on June 26/27, as well as at Spa-Francorchamps and Donington Park’s season finale.

Flewitt stepped up to GT4 full-time last season after winning the Pure McLaren GT Series title with Hankey as her driver coach in 2018 and ‘19. The duo scored an outright class victory en route to British GT’s Pro-Am crown with Balfe Motorsport and are now ready for the next step on their GT journey together.

The bulk of Hankey’s previous GT3 experience has been at the wheel of Mercedes-AMGs and Aston Martins, but the McLaren Factory Driver also piloted a 650S in several British GT rounds throughout 2015.

“I’m super excited to be joining Team Rocket RJN for select rounds in British GT this season,” said Flewitt. “I will be sharing their McLaren 720S GT3 with my driver coach and co-driver Euan Hankey. Stepping up from GT4 was always the plan for this season but it’s been a challenging year so far to make it happen. I’m forever grateful to all who have helped and supported us to get here. Bring on Silverstone!”

Team principal Bob Neville added: “We are very pleased to welcome Mia and Euan to the team and very much looking forward to getting our GT3 car back on track. We already have a busy GT4 programme with three cars this season but to add the McLaren 720S to the programme is fantastic. Mia and Euan are a great pairing and obviously very familiar with working together during their time in GT4.”

Team Rocket RJN’s McLaren is scheduled to test for two days prior to the Silverstone 500 where TF Sport has also entered two Aston Martins on a race-by-race basis. Further one-off entries will be announced in the coming weeks.
