RAM add Tse and Onslow-Cole to Oulton entry

> Team’s second Mercedes-AMG joins sprint double header this September

RAM Racing’s second Mercedes-AMG returns to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Oulton Park next month with new Pro-Am pairing Kevin Tse and Tom Onslow-Cole.

The team’s race-by-race entry previously appeared at Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Donington with Sam De Haan and James Cottingham, while full-season duo Ian Loggie and Yelmer Buurman lie joint second in the Drivers’ standings after winning last time out at Snetterton.

The latter are now joined in RAM’s garage by Tse who’s also contesting Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS’s Sprint Cup event at Brands Hatch with Adam Christodoulou a fortnight before Oulton.

The Macanese has a wealth of single-make GT, sportscar and touring car experience, and is also a former Asian Le Mans Series class champion. He returned to GT racing in 2019 and last raced the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in 2020.

“I’ve been away from racing for more than a year due to the pandemic, so I really can’t wait to get back into the action again with RAM Racing,” he said. “It will be an all-new challenge for me as I’ve never been to either Brands Hatch or Oulton Park, so there will be a lot for me to learn. I know that RAM will provide me with a very competitive car for both events and I’m looking forward to sharing with both Adam and Tom.

“I’ll be relying on their coaching to help get me up to speed in each event, which won’t be easy as a single-round entry in two highly competitive GT3 championships. My main goal is to get as close to the pace as I can, and have as much fun as I can across both events.”

His Oulton co-driver, Onslow-Cole, last raced in British GT two years ago but is familiar with the car and team after spending 2020 with both in GT World Challenge Europe.

“I can’t wait to get back in a RAM Racing Mercedes… it feels like a long time since my last outing with the team in 2020,” he said.

“I’ve been talking with Kevin quite a bit since we put this deal together and I’m really looking forward to working with him. It’ll be quite an adventure for Kevin as both Brands Hatch and Oulton Park are very particular, traditional English circuits – they’re both very fast, flowing and exciting.

“I’ve been doing some testing with Mercedes-AMG GT3s this year, so I’ve stayed in the hot seat and I don’t have any concerns about being ring rusty or anything like that… even if I haven’t raced a GT3 car at Oulton since 2014! I’m sure it’ll all come flooding back to me after a few laps.”

Oulton Park hosts two 60-minute sprint races, as well as British GT’s penultimate round of 2021, on September 11-12.
