2023: RACE LAB confirms three-car British GT programme

> Khera and Hankey join forces in first of two GT3 entries
> GT4 details to be revealed this afternoon

Intelligent Money British GT Championship debutants, RACE LAB, have secured three entries for the upcoming campaign.

Pro-Am duo Lucky Khera and Euan Hankey are sharing a McLaren 720S GT3 – one of the squad’s two senior class contenders – while the GT4 entry will be revealed this afternoon.

Details concerning RACE LAB’s third driver crew will be announced separately in due course.

Khera, who has made several British GT appearances in the past but never contested a full season, competed in the British Endurance Championship with RACE LAB and its team owner Lee Frost throughout 2022. Now the reigning two-time Ferrari Challenge UK champion is ready to tackle the country’s top rung of GT racing.

He shares the McLaren with RACE LAB’s sporting director Hankey who raced the 720S GT3 with Mia Flewitt in 2021 and ‘22. The duo were also GT4 Pro-Am champions in 2020 when they campaigned a McLaren 570S.

“I’m very excited to be part of Lucky’s first full-season British GT campaign. It’s the start of what we hope will be a race-winning partnership with the McLaren 720S GT3,” said Hankey.

“We have an extensive test programme lined up but, looking at the bigger picture, this is the beginning of a two-year programme and we have to appreciate this season could present its challenges. Equally, we are also ready for whatever 2023 throws at us. Lucky has a natural ability behind the wheel and I have full confidence that he will bring whatever is required to the table to give us a fighting chance out there on the circuit.”

Frost added: “2023 is a very exciting year for us here at RACE LAB and has been a long time in the making. We are very fortunate to be able to boast what I truly feel is an extremely strong line-up of both Pro and Am drivers alongside a solid team of mechanics, engineers and everyone else required to make a team successful.

“Having Lucky and Euan in the GT3 for this year is such a step in the right direction for Lucky’s racing journey and I have full confidence that the pair will bring home some good results. They work very well together as team-mates and this is certain to be reflected out on the track.

“We of course have three cars entered in British GT this year and I feel this expansion of the team will allow us to grow positively and create new avenues for us to demonstrate our full potential.”

All three RACE LAB entries are expected to attend British GT’s media day at Donington on March 14 before the new season begins in earnest one month later on Easter Bank Holiday Weekend (April 8 & 10).
