Greystone GT will field a third car at the Silverstone 500 where Andrew Gilbert and Fran Rueda make their Intelligent Money British GT Championship debuts next weekend (May 6-7).
The Silver-Am duo are sharing the same McLaren 720S GT3 Evo with which they’re also contesting this year’s International GT Open.
It brings the team’s Silverstone 500 commitment to three cars. Greystone GT’s existing full-season entries comprise Mike Price and Callum Macleod, and Andrey Borodin and Oli Webb.
“We now have one more reason to look forward to the Silverstone 500 – our home race – with Andrew and Fran adding this event to their GT Open schedule,” said team principal Mark McLoughlin. “It’s exciting to bring our GT Open team to British GT for the weekend to add to our regular line-up. We tested here in April with the car on the Pirelli tyres – which neither driver is particularly used to – so the experience we’ve gained should be a help.”
Nottingham-born Gilbert, who is based in Dubai, began his racing career in the 2021 Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific before contesting several of the same series’ European events and making his GT Open debut.
His Spanish co-driver was the same series’ overall runner-up in 2017 and 2018, and is also a Renault Sport Trophy and SEAT Eurocup race winner. The 26-year-old and Gilbert made two GT Open appearances together with Greystone GT last season ahead of this year’s full-time assault.
Further race-by-race entries will be revealed ahead of British GT’s three-hour enduro next weekend.
