Top Gear’s former Stig, Ben Collins, will make his Intelligent Money British GT Championship return at the upcoming Donington Decider, 18 years after his last appearance in the series.
Collins joins Tom Holland in Raceway Motorsport’s #55 Ginetta G56 GT4, which also featured a stand-in co-driver at Portimao and Brands Hatch following Michael Crees’ departure.
Coincidentally, the car shares the same number as Collins used during his last British GT appearance at Silverstone in 2005 when he and the late Neil Cunningham (pictured below) finished second overall in a Porsche 996 GT3 RSR entered by Embassy Racing.
Collins is best known for his role on Top Gear but also possess an extensive and diverse motorsport CV that includes the likes of Le Mans, British F3, V8 Supercars, BTCC and the Macau Grand Prix.
However, the former ASCAR champion has no contemporary GT4 experience.
