Kevin Tse and Mercedes-AMG driver Maximilian Goetz have joined forces in the first of 2 Seas Motorsport’s GT3 entries.
The reigning teams’ champions also helped James Cottingham finish runner-up in last year’s drivers’ standings. However, his recently confirmed FIA WEC entry has led to a prime British GT seat becoming available.
Step forward Tse who raced Sky Tempesta’s McLaren and finished second in the Silver-Am standings last season. But the Hong Kong racer is also no stranger to Mercedes-AMG machinery: he drove the same car for Sky Tempesta – which was overseen by 2 Seas at the time – at two events in 2022 and was a winner on debut at Oulton Park with RAM Racing in 2021.
“After a full season in GT3 Silver-Am, I am extremely excited to be graduating to the Pro-Am class in British GT in 2024,” he said. “2 Seas has proven itself to be ultra-successful over the years, and the icing on the cake for me is to be driving with Maximilian.
“The 2021 DTM champion needs no introduction, and I will be looking forward to improving my driving skills with him to guide me throughout the year. It is all shaping up to be an amazing season!”
Tse’s new co-driver comes with a formidable CV. Goetz has been on Mercedes-AMG’s books for more than a decade, making his name by winning the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in 2013 before adding what is now the Fanatec GT Europe Sprint Cup crown the following year.
His biggest success to date came in 2021 when Goetz earned the DTM title during a dramatic final round, while he has also been a race winner in Fanatec GT Asia, Intercontinental GT Challenge and ADAC GT Masters.
He, like Tse, has previous experience of working with 2 Seas from their time together at the Gulf 12 Hours in December.
“It is great to be back with the 2 Seas crew for 2024, and to be taking on a new challenge of British GT,” said the German. “We had a great run at the end of last year at the Gulf event, and they proved to be true challengers on the biggest stage.
“The British GT Championship has become one of the biggest domestic championships in recent years, and has seen some amazing racing, so I am really looking forward to being a part of it, joining up with Kevin, and seeing what we can do together.”
The striking Contempo Concept-backed entry will be on-track at Donington during British GT’s media day on March 12, before Oulton Park opens this year’s campaign less than three weeks later (March 30 + April 1).
