2024: Former champs Steller return with Docker, Albert and Audi

2022 British GT champions Steller Motorsport return to the series this year with an Audi R8 LMS shared by Tim Docker and Jordan Albert.

The Pro-Am duo will be hoping to emulate Richard Williams and Sennan Fielding who clinched the drivers’ crown with the same chassis two years ago.

Steller switched to Le Mans Cup’s GT3’s ranks last season but now return to domestic competition with a strong pairing and proven winner in the shape of their R8.

Docker makes his British GT debut following a strong GT Cup campaign with Albert that yielded class wins and fifth overall. He was also Britcar Class 4 champion in 2019 and has raced in TCR UK amongst other national series.

“I have known Jordan since he was a McLaren Academy Development driver, and we have a handful of GT Cup GTH Class wins and podiums to our names over the last three years,” he said.

“Our livery will promote MPS Networks, Southern Comms Group (SCG) and Forseti, a business co-founded by Jordan which aims to provide its members with enhanced esports and real-world racing opportunities. Steller is a well-established, championship-winning race team. I’m confident I’ll be well supported.”

Albert was a GT4 title contender with Beechdean AMR back in 2016 and scored a second win with Academy’s Mustang four years later. Those seasons bookended a stint on McLaren’s young driver roster that saw him race Tolman’s 570S.

“I’m incredibly excited to be racing full-time again alongside Tim Docker,” he said. “It's our first time competing in the British GT Championship as a pair so there is some learning to do, but I've had experience in the series before so I can share my knowledge to support Tim.

“Steller Motorsport are an impressive team with great infrastructure and they were championship winners in 2022, so I trust they are going to provide a great package.”

Audi’s addition brings the number of GT4 manufacturers confirmed so far to seven. More will be revealed before the full-season entry list drops at media day on March 12.

The nine-race campaign begins at Oulton Park on March 30 + April 1.
