Former GT4 Pro-Am champion Chris Salkeld is returning to Century this season after teaming up with GB4 graduate Branden Templeton.
The move also sees his ‘Harriott’s Chariot’ BMW M4, albeit now in Evo spec, back on the British GT Championship grid two years after Salkeld won the GT4 Pro-Am crown.
An aborted senior class move then opened up GT3 opportunities in Europe before he returned for a one-off appearance at Brands Hatch’s season finale.
Salkeld first raced a Century BMW in 2021, but his long association with the team stretches much further back to Ginettas.
18-year-old Templeton, meanwhile, moves to GT4 after finishing fourth in the British GT-supporting GB4 Championship – his first season outside of karts.
“Harriott’s Chariot is back…. Yeaaah!” said Salkeld. “I am over the moon to be returning to British GT for 2025, after a rather strange 2024. It’s amazing to be returning home to Century Motorsport for the year and to be pairing up with Brendon is incredibly exciting!
“British GT has gone from strength to strength since my debut all the way back in 2021 and I can’t wait to be back on the grid, live on Sky Sports F1.
“Branden is a special talent and we have been working incredibly hard in the off-season to get him up to speed and pass on my years of experience ahead of his debut in GTs after a magnificent debut year in GB4. Branden is the youngest ever driver of Harriott’s Chariot at just 18 years-old but his maturity and work ethic is second to none and we’re all really excited to have him aboard.
“As always a huge thank you to Ainsley, Happy Drinks company, Food Doctor and all our other sponsors for their continued support this year; we look forward to seeing you all at the opening round.”
Templeton added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce my debut in the British GT Championship for 2025 with Century Motorsport, joining forces with none other than Chris Salkeld and driving Harriott's Chariot!
“Chris’s wealth of experience in British GT is unmatched, and to have him as my mentor and team-mate is an incredible opportunity. His knowledge and success in this championship speak for themselves, and I’ve already learned so much from him during the off-season. Together, we’re aiming to make a real impact on the grid this year.
“The British GT Championship has grown into one of the most competitive and exciting series in the world, and it’s an honour to be part of the action, especially with races live on Sky Sports F1. Being one of, if not the youngest driver on the grid is a privilege I don’t take lightly, and I’m determined to prove myself against some of the best in the business.
“A massive thank you to everyone who’s helped me get onto the grid this year, Go Motorsport Management, Camelot Construction limited, Klima therm. Your support means the world, and I can’t wait to hit the track and represent you all at the season opener. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember! See you on the grid!”
Salkeld and Templeton share Century’s garage with Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson whose entry was confirmed earlier this month.
2025’s full-season British GT entry list will be revealed during media day at Silverstone this Friday before Donington hosts round one on April 5-6.
