Reigning champion Rob Collard will return to British GT action at Silverstone this weekend when he joins Hugo Cook aboard Barwell's #1 Lamborghini.
An unforeseen medical procedure forced Collard to miss the opening event of the season at Donington Park earlier this month. But having completed his rehabilitation and tested the car last week, 2020's 500 winner is now cleared to race once again.
"I’m so excited to get back into the car and get my season started," he said. "I don’t feel at home unless I have a crash helmet on, so it’s been a hugely frustrating start to the year for me, but I’m back and ready to dive into the deep end.
"It’ll be a bit of a shotgun start to the year, having had very limited testing and going straight into a very demanding race like the Silverstone 500. I’ve won that race before and I’d like to think we stand a chance at doing it again, which would be really amazing."
Sunday's three-hour race goes green at 12:45 BST. Watch it live on SRO's GT World YouTube channel and Sky Sports F1.
