Gunn to make GT4 return with Beechdean AMR at Snetterton

Reigning British GT4 champion Ross Gunn returns to the class and scene of his 2015 title triumph at Snetterton next weekend (August 6/7) when he partners Jack Bartholomew aboard Beechdean AMR’s #407 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

The reshuffle was confirmed at the same time as the team announced that Jordan Albert will not compete at the final two events due to circumstances beyond his control. The 19-year-old and Bartholomew currently lead the Silver Cup category and lie second in the overall GT4 class standings.

“Jordan has delivered more than we could have expected for his first season in British GT and driving a GT4 car,” said team owner Andrew Howard. “He is an ambitious young man and a skilful driver who has a promising career ahead of him and we wish him every success in the future.”

A difficult week that began with Beechdean AMR also withdrawing their GT3 entry from Snetterton as a result of crash damage has at least raised the intriguing of prospect of Gunn, who would have otherwise been sidelined following the V12 Vantage’s issues, returning to the same car he and Jamie Chadwick drove to last season’s GT4 crown.

Indeed, it was at Snetterton 12 months ago that they became the youngest pairing ever to claim a British GT title.

His experience and speed will be of vital importance to Bartholomew’s own title bid; he heads into the weekend 17.5 points adrift of PMW Expo Racing/Optimum Motorsport’s Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson.
