Barwick and Ellis join Simpson Motorsport for British GT4 return at Snetterton

Two familiar names return to the British GT4 grid at Snetterton this weekend after Adrian Barwick and Bradley Ellis confirmed their entry in a Simpson Motorsport-run Ginetta G55.

The pair last raced together at Silverstone in 2015 after winning twice en route to finishing third in the 2014 GT4 standings. Ellis’ experience goes much further back, though, and includes winning the 2007 GT3 crown alongside Alex Mortimer and an impressive GT3 cameo at Donington Park last season.

All of Barwick and Ellis’ previous British GT outings together, stretching back to 2013, have been with Team Parker Racing, but that streak comes to an end at Snetterton this weekend when they link up with Simpson Motorsport, who began the season running Nick Jones and Scott Malvern’s Ginetta.

Barwick, who was recently appointed Ginetta’s commercial director, is open to continuing in the series next season after missing out over the past 12 months.

“It’s a great paddock and I’ve missed racing in British GT,” he told Motorsport News. “It’s great to be back in the Ginetta GT4 as it’s what I know best. I’m not sure on my plans for next year and as to whether I’ll do more than one round this year but we’ll see.”
