British GT’s official e-racing championship will debut on Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 6 later this month when the three-round TORA British GT Winter Series begins.
After two successful seasons racing in parallel with the real-world championship on Project CARS, The Online Racing Association - British GT’s official e-racing organiser - is keen to widen the series’ appeal.
That begins with real-world British GT branding appearing on all GT3 and GT4 entries for the first time, a factor made possible by Forza 6’s livery editor and the community of gamers who faithfully re-create them. Combining elements of the real with virtual has also been a goal of TORA’s since the organisation’s inception almost 10 years ago.
Entrants are encouraged to contact real-world British GT teams about representing them in TORA. Indeed, a number of familiar liveries have already been confirmed for the inaugural Winter Series along with current British GT drivers.
TORA President Matt Hunter said: “Expanding our British GT activities onto Forza Motorsport has always been a goal and it’s fantastic to finally be able to bring this premier series to the community. This is the perfect introduction to our Ten Years of TORA.”
The opening round of this season’s TORA British GT Winter Series takes place at Brands Hatch on October 30, and is followed by races at Silverstone (13 November) and Spa-Francorchamps (27 November). All races will start at 20:00 UK time.
