Pittard joins Reed at Lanan Racing

Lanan Racing has confirmed that David Pittard will join returning British GT race winner Alex Reed for its attack on this year’s GT4 class drivers’ title.

The Bedfordshire-based single-seater squad turned heads during its maiden sportscar campaign in 2016 and returns for a second crack at the ‘junior’ category with a Silver line-up mixing experience with youth.

Former MSA British Endurance champion Pittard, 25, also finished second in the 2014 Ginetta GT4 Supercup. And it’s aboard the same G55 model that he’ll now make his British GT debut alongside sophomore driver Reed, whose pole at Snetterton and Spa-Francorchamps victory with erstwhile co-driver Joey Foster earmarked the 20-year-old as one of last season’s standout rookies.

“I’m very excited to be partnering Alex Reed, Motorsport News’ GT4 2016 driver of the year,” said Pittard, for whom 2017 marks a return to full-time competition for the first time in two years. “I’m equally excited to be joining Lanan Racing with their pedigree in single-seaters and prototypes. Their impressive debut season in GTs with the Ginetta underlined their engineering and development skills.”

Team principal Graham Johnson added: “Having to replace Joey was always going to be a tough task but, after a variety of discussions with a number of drivers, I felt Dave and Alex would be an awesome pairing in what is becoming the championship to be in for GT drivers.”
