Stilp and Hankey join Silverstone 500 entry

Two GT4 entries will feature revised driver line-ups this weekend when British GT stages its blue riband three-hour race at Silverstone.

Team HARD. with Trade Price Cars has drafted in Jordan Stilp to join Callum Hawkins-Row aboard its #34 Ginetta G55, while Euan Alers-Hankey stands in for Ben Barnicoat at Track-Club.

Stilp, a BRDC Rising Star, last raced with Team HARD. at Rockingham last season. Before that he finished eighth in the 2016 GT4 Drivers’ standings after helping the same squad claim that year’s Teams’ title.

His links with the outfit also extend to heading up the Stilp HARD. Academy, which provides youngsters with a link between karting and racing.

“It has all happened very last-minute but, having worked with Team HARD. for the last three years, I feel really at home and am ready to jump at the chance to return to the British GT Championship,” said Stilp. “Thanks to the team for the opportunity and I will do everything I can to achieve the best results possible.

“The latest spec GT4 car, with its ABS and traction control, will be new to me but I’m sure I’ll be able to progress throughout the weekend and hopefully help the team achieve some strong results. It will be great to work with Callum who is a very capable young driver having seen what he can do last year in Britcar where I was working with a couple of the team’s drivers.”

Meanwhile, GT4’s 2017 Silverstone 500 winners, Track-Club, have also changed their driver line-up. Regular Pro, Ben Barnicoat, is unavailable for this weekend’s event. Instead, Alers-Hankey – who last contested British GT in 2015 aboard a McLaren 650S GT3 – joins Adam Balon in the #72 570S.

This weekend’s Silverstone 500 gets underway at 13:10. Watch it live on the British GT website and Facebook page, as well as SRO’s GT World Youtube channel, or reserve your tickets here.
