Jetstream Motorsport has confirmed that Maxime Martin has been discharged from Kings College hospital in London where he underwent precautionary checks after a foreign object penetrated his windscreen during yesterday’s British GT race at Brands Hatch.
The Aston Martin Racing factory driver was released from Brands Hatch’s medical centre a short time after the incident before being assessed by an ophthalmic specialist after glass entered the car’s cockpit. He was cleared and left hospital at 20.00 on Sunday evening.
Jetstream’s 20s pitstop success penalty for winning at Spa had dropped the V12 Vantage from second to eighth following Graham Davidson’s opening stint. Martin’s attempt to make up the lost time then came to an abrupt halt when a foreign object penetrated his Aston Martin’s windscreen, sending glass into the cockpit and forcing him back to the pits to retire from the race.
