MacKinnon and Devlin team-up in Multimatic’s #19 Mustang

MacKinnon and Devlin team-up in Multimatic’s #19 Mustang

Alistair MacKinnon and Ben Devlin will become the latest gust drivers to race Multimatic Motorsports’ #19 Ford Mustang when British GT visits Snetterton this weekend.

The team’s second full-season entry was shared by American duo Chad McCumbee and Jade Buford at Oulton and will continue to feature a variety of drivers throughout the campaign.

Multimatic’s European Technical Centre is based just up the road from Snetterton in Thetford, and that ‘local’ theme is set to continue behind the wheel of its #19 entry.

MacKinnon, from Cromer on Norfolk’s coast, will make his first British GT appearance since 2015 when he drove RAM Racing’s Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 with Lewis Plato. He’s joined in the Pro/Am entry by series debutant and Norwich resident Devlin who was part of Multimatic’s Mazda sports-prototype programme in America for several seasons. His experience with the organisation goes back much further, though, to his first year of racing in a Lotus.

The news also ensures that all 23 GT4 entries – a would-be record for a British GT race – now have drivers confirmed.

MacKinnon and Devlin are joined by Multimatic’s full-season line-up of Scott Maxwell and Seb Priaulx who head to Snetterton as joint-championship leaders with HHC’s Callum Pointon and Dean Macdonald after winning Oulton Park’s second race on Easter Monday.

Their resulting 10-second Pitstop Success Penalty makes back-to-back victories unlikely. However, Priaulx is still confident of another solid weekend before British GT’s endurance races begin from Silverstone.

“I think Snetterton will suit the Mustang and I’ve been quick there in the past,” he said. “We’ve got a bit of extra weight for this weekend and an extra 10 seconds added to our pitstop for Race 1 so that’s going to be tough for us. We hope to get a good starting position and grab as many points as possible!”

Watch both hour-long races live this Sunday across British GT’s social media platforms, website and SRO’s GT World Youtube channel.
