Balfe Motorsport will add a third McLaren to its British GT programme at Silverstone and Donington Park this June when Mia Flewitt and Stewart Proctor make their championship debuts aboard a 570S GT4.
However, neither are strangers to the car after racing them in the manufacturer’s single-make Pure McLaren GT Series throughout 2018. Five pole positions and victories helped Flewitt claim the inaugural title despite joining as a relative motorsport novice.
Meanwhile, fellow Pure McLaren race winner Proctor previously competed in GT Cup with his son Lewis. He currently occupies second in the British GT4 standings after claiming a first victory with Tolman at Snetterton last time out.
Flewitt and Proctor join Graham Johnson and McLaren Young Professional Michael O’Brien in Balfe’s GT4 line-up, while the team’s 720S shared by Shaun Balfe and Rob Bell will fight for overall victory.
GT4’s only Am/Am entry will certainly turn heads at Silverstone and Donington where its 570S will compete in a Vega Blue and Papaya Orange livery echoing that of McLaren’s current F1 car.
Another record-breaking entry is expected for British GT’s blue riband event, the #Silverstone500, on June 8/9. Reserve your tickets here.
